Math-Sparks is an experiential learning program designed to facilitate students to apply
speed-math techniques to break down complex operations to simple one line calculations. In
addition to this, children will be engaged in activities which will enhance logical thinking,
reasoning, problem solving and listening skills. The program sensitizes students to the fact
that skills such as speed, accuracy, thinking flexibility and space saving are very important in
higher grades and competitive exams

Program Focus:

The focus of this program would be to strengthen multiplication skills and do 2Digit X 2Digit
calculations in one line and also “Squaring techniques”. Students will be introduced to
various speed calculation techniques and encouraged to apply the most appropriate method
for a given problem.
Result verification techniques will be taught to students, which they can use to check whether
the answer is correct, without actually doing the calculation.

What the child will experience:

  • Skills learnt by children will be reinforced through games and quizzes.
  • Puzzle activities - Newton crosses, Arithmogan’s triangles, magic squares etc.
  • Brain exercises – Cross crawl, hook ups, crossing the midline activities, etc., which help students to release stress, expend excess energy and enhance learning.
  • Child will be taught number patterns, splitting numbers, how to simplify subtraction and encouraged to learn multiplication tables (2 to 9) by search and scan method.
  • Child will do puzzles - Newton crosses, Arithmogan's triangles, Magic squares etc.
  • Game based skill learning and brain gym exercises - figure 8's, cross crawl, crossing the midline activities
